| CHT has established strong links with
Thames Valley University and in the coming year we will be embarking
on some exciting new research projects in conjunction with Thames
Valley University to demonstrate the efficacy of complementary therapies.
The funding of these projects is dependent on the support of charitable
trusts and individuals.
If you require further information on any of our proposed work
please contact Hannah Kalmanowitz hannah@comphealth.org.uk
Some of our recent findings:
We strongly believe in the importance of providing services that
are backed up by evidence that they are effective.
This falls into three areas:
- Qualitative effects of treatment as defined by the client
- Measured (quantitative) clinical effectiveness of treatments
- Cost-benefit of treatment.
CHT is currently conducting a survey of the qualitative effects
of treatment as defined by clients. Key findings from our interim
report are:
87% of clients reported an improvement of physical symptoms by
using complementary therapy
80% of people using drug therapies reported a reduction in side
effects by using complementary medicine
95% of people reported improvements in emotional well being
